I ordered two Craig Thompson books through Flipkart! Habibi and Carnet de Voyage. I'd have liked to buy Blankets and Goodbye Chunky Rice too, but I'll save that for some other time. Spending too much makes me worried! It's so damn easy to lose track of expenses while shopping online.
Conceptart.org is down for bug fixes again. The problem isn't that it's not working now, but that this is the 3rd or 4th time its been out of use since December. I miss looking at new sketchbooks and browsing around for inspiration :( Instead of updating the conceptart sketchbook, here's this week's update.
First up, a vector piece :) For the microstock galleries.
A digi painting to celebrate the 300 followers on my facebook page!
I had bought 3 copic markers earlier this year, but never really tested them (as I'd like all sketches that come from it to be nothing less than PERFECT.. Those markers are expensive :/ ). Drew this lil piece from memory. It's a mess.
Some half hour speed paint practice. Game of Thrones FTW!
And when I was brave enough to attempt another portrait - Adele | 2.5 Hours
Fan art after ages! I've gotten a break from work and some time to draw, so I'm dusting off the blog. Game of Thrones season 3 would be out by Easter. Having read the third book, "A Storm of Swords", I have no doubt that this one will be a shocker for those who don't know the story.. Can't wait to see how they've portrayed those very important turn of events! :D
Jon Snow is up first with his loyal companion, Ghost. I'm hoping to make more fan art before the show starts, but considering my resolutions so far, I'm not sure whether I'll be able to :/ Would be fun to experiment with different characters and styles, could learn a bit about caricatures as well!
Got a few rough sketches here, was trying to come up with a robot design for a contest.
Is it just me, or do you happen to think of the future a little too often too? As in, take college for instance. Why join college?
‘You miss college, you miss the best years of your life!’ I heard a lot of that prior to joining.
One year has passed by, and I have to say, I’m not happy with where I am. I really didn’t work enough. Sure, it was fun, but there’s a limit to that. I can’t agree with the notion that college is all about having fun. Though time’s ticking by, I don’t see anyone else noticing the sand enveloping this side of the hourglass. Before you know it, you’re 6 feet under it. I wonder if they’ve given up on themselves or that they’ve really not thought about where they want to go.
There are plenty of times I’ve asked myself why I joined. It comes to the one answer that I don’t know where I’m going, but I do know it will be in the art field. And so I put a hold on animation, came back to square one, and took up Fine Arts in college. But four years from now, I want to walk away not just with a BFA in hand; I want to use these years to learn, experiment, create and grow with art. (And if I’m lucky enough, get my name down in the history books doing it… I’ll figure out how on the way :D ).
This was 'A whole new World', a piece I'd created for a contest a long time back. Some of my earlier art work...Some fan art, a lil photography :D, and concept art...Just brightening up the blog!
